FIFA World Cup in France right now!

Did you know that the FIFA World Cup is arranged in France at this very moment? It all started on June 7th and it will last for one full month. The opening match was played between France and South Korea at Parc des Princes in Paris on June 7th, and the final will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Lyon exactly one month later.

FIFA World Cup in France and in Paris

France is a great host for such competitions and not only are they a great host, but they are also very good at playing at home ground. During the European Championship in 2016, they almost won the trophy, but they ended up losing the final against Portugal. But, in 2018 France was able to get revenge as they won the FIFA World Cup 2018 for men. Can they win the FIFA World Cup in 2019 as the females compete?

France got a great start on the tournament winning 4-0 against South Korea, but they have some more tough group stage matches ahead before they will enter the knockout stage. Their toughest match during the group stage will be played against Norway on June 12th. You can find the ultimate FIFA World Cup streaming guide with schedules and much more here.

Most people agree on the fact that the French team is among the biggest favorites to win the entire World Cup. There are, however, some tough opponents, and the United States might be the biggest of them all. They started the World Cup with a 13-0 win against Thailand. That doesn’t have to mean a lot, but it sure says something about their attackers and their ability to score a lot of goals.

France will play their last group stage match against Nigeria on June 17th and after that it will be time for the knockout stage. But, will Norway or France win the group A? Most people expect it to be France, but a lot will depend on their performance in the match against Norway on June 12th.

Matches played in Paris during the World Cup

Quite a lot of matches will be played in Paris during the FIFA World Cup. But, it is also easy to travel around in France with car of with some of the rapid trains if you desire to see a match live at the stadium somewhere else than in Paris.

You can buy tickets at some of the stadiums or at the official website of the tournament.

Enjoy the FIFA World Cup in France!

The way people have looked upon love, spoken about love, and portrayed love, has all changed a lot throughout history. New pissoirs in Paris – Do you like them?

Paris has gotten some extra attention in international media lately because of their new eco-friendly pissoirs (urinals). Take a look at them yourself and tell us what you think!

The open-air urinals are created in order to make men urinate less in the streets of Paris. That is a nice thing, and Paris is not the first city to create such open-air urinals in the middle of a city. If you travel to Amsterdam you can see very similar things.

The urinals in Paris are colored red, and they have plants at the top of them. The urinals have a straw layer to make sure that there will be no smell, and the pee itself will be turned into nutrients that can later be used in parks and for plants all around Paris. So, the intention is noble.

There have been some similar open-air urinals in Paris for a while, but the most recent addition has made people both complain and laugh.

The newest open-air pissoir in Paris is located next to the River Seine. This gives the needy a beautiful view while peeing, but it gives a special view to the tourists enjoying a peaceful ride on the River Seine. A tourist cannot watch the noble parts of the person peeing, but they can watch the facial expression of the one doing so, and that is too much for some people.

So, what do you think about the new open-air urinals in Paris? Do you like them? Would you mind having such a pissoir located near where you live in your hometown?

A beautiful night-shot

Paris is a beautiful city, but it is hard to catch the real beauty of the city in a photo. But, there are some photographers able to get the beauty on camera, and this picture is an example of that.

We didn’t make the photo ourselves, because to make such an image, you need very expensive equipment and a lot of training. We don’t have the expensive equipment, nor the training, so we focus on writing about Paris instead. But, we hope you will enjoy this amazing picture, and that it will inspire you to visit Paris sometime soon.

We will post more fantastic pictures from Paris in the near future, so stay tuned!

Public screening of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Paris

The FIFA World Cup 2018 will have its kickoff in two days. But, will there be public screenings in Paris? What about the area in front of Hotel de Ville (City Hall)?

During the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and during Euro 2016 big screens were placed in front of Hotel de Ville in the heart of Paris, and thousands of people gathered to watch the matches. But, the world isn’t as easy as it once was, and due to terrorist attacks and terrorist threats, very strict rules have been made when it comes to showing football matches on outdoor areas in Paris.

Public screenings in Paris

An official from the ministry have said: “I remind all publicly-elected officials of the fact that ‘big screen’ zones are completely forbidden in public spaces.” This is quite similar to what’s going on in Brussels, where public screenings have been banned, but there are some exceptions. And, there might be some exceptions in Paris as well.

During the European Championship in 2016, there were dedicated fan zones in the ten “host” cities in France. These were all heavily guarded and protected, and thus they managed to keep terrorist attacks away. But, this time there will be no official places guarded and protected, and thus local event managers will have to do the job themselves if they want to have a public screening somewhere. But, not only will they have to arrange with the security, protection, controls, and guards, but they will also have to pay the bill for the entire program themselves. And, that will be a tough nut to crack, and for that reason, we do not expect there to be public screenings of the FIFA World Cup outdoors in Paris.

But, if you really want to watch the FIFA World Cup with friends in Paris, why not visit a pub instead? There are quite a lot of sports-bars in Paris, and beneath you can find the name and website of some good places you could go.

These could be good options if you want to watch the World Cup in Paris. The matches will be broadcasted mostly by TF1 in France, meaning that you can also watch them on the TV in your hotel room.

You can find a full World Cup schedule right here. If you want more instructions on how you could possibly stream the matches on the Internet (if you want to watch it on BBC/ITV in the UK instead of TF1 in France), check this site.

When will France play?

France will play their first match in the FIFA World Cup against Australia on June 16th (in four days from now). They will then play against Peru on June 21st, and their last group stage match will be against Denmark on June 26th. They have ended up in a tough group, and especially Denmark and Peru should be considered tough opponents. Neither of the teams has lost in more than 10 matches, but that might have changed before France will play against the teams on June 21st and June 26th. Denmark will play against Peru on June 16th, so that will be an interesting match to follow for those looking to watch some great football matches.
